Fragomen Worldwide is currently recruiting an experienced Malaysia immigration specialist to join their established Malaysia Inbound practice group, based in Kuala Lumpur office.

This position requires you to provide strategic immigration advice and compliance services to the firm’s corporate client base.

You will be responsible for advising on Malaysian immigration regulations, procedures and policy, including managing the visa application process for a portfolio of clients.

You are required to maintain communication and relationships with key client contacts and ensure that they are kept informed on progress throughout the application process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review instructions and information for each new case. Identify key issues that may impact immigration formalities (travel plans, dependents, health issues etc.) and address these issues with the client.
  • Research, prepare and formulate advice for key clients of Fragomen.
  • Routine contact with clients and the local authorities. Keep clients well informed on any issues or changes to regulations or visa processes as required.
  • Participation in conflict resolution and management of client expectations.
  • Assist with various applications to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs such as authentication of documents and obtaining Certificates of Good Conduct (ie. Police Clearance)
  • Assist with various consular matters such as visa applications, and legalisation/certification/attestation of documents and by various embassies in Kuala Lumpur
  • Assist in compiling metrics/reports as required under contractual agreement with respective clients.
  • Update firm’s case management system and maintenance of client files in accordance with agreed practice protocols.
  • Client invoicing on completion of each case.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to team members.

Candidate Requirement:

  • A good degree in any discipline. Law degree will be regarded favourably.
  • Experience in the area of labor mobility and/or immigration law is an advantage.
  • Reliable and conscientious with a good eye for detail.
  • Strong client service mentality.
  • Strong analytical and judgement skills.
  • Good facilitation and communication skills.
  • Ability to track multiple case matters.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
