European Global Mobility Summit & EMMA Awards

Fragomen to Present
November 4, 2011

At this year's European Global Mobility Summit & EMMA Awards, Fragomen will be in attendance and will be exhibiting at Booth C12.

Session Title
Pace of Change Works Both Ways: Is It Time to Reflect After Three Years of Immigration Reform?

As the workforce continues to be more and more global, the government strives to cut immigration. This session will review recent changes, discuss how the changes can benefit employers and best practices to transition your current systems into systems that are compliant with the new rules.

Speakers

Ian Robinson -
Ian is the Manager of Fragomen's UK government affairs practice, where he works with clients to assess and analyse impacts as new immigration rules and policies come into force.  Ian works to ensure that planned immigration policy and the focus to reduce net migration does not fetter UK business recovery, the ability for companies to attract highly skilled talent. Ian held the post of Assistant Director in the UK Border Agency before joining Fragomen in August 2011.  He most recently played a central role in the design and implementation of the UK’s much debated policy placing a cap on economic migrants, and also was heavily involved in development of the Points Based System. Ian received his LL.B. from the University of Central England in 2000.

Caron Pope - Caron is the Managing Partner of the firm’s London office with more than 20 years of experience practicing solely in the field of immigration and nationality law.  Her expertise spans all categories of applications under the Points Based System (PBS), as well as advising on and managing the process for employers to be licensed as sponsors. Caron also advises on the full range of applications covered by the Immigration Rules, and is a leading expert on investor applications. Prior to joining Fragomen, Caron led the UK Business Immigration team for CMS Cameron McKenna. Caron has extensive experience working with clients in various industry sectors including financial institutions and services, pharmaceutical companies, engineering and oil and gas companies, retail businesses and other law firms. Caron completed a Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Guilford, and her LL.B. from the University of East Anglia, Norwich.
