If your company is sending employees to Uzbekistan—Fragomen is here to help. Working closely with our Local Advisors in Uzbekistan, we provide the immigration strategies and support you need to get your employees on the ground as quickly as possible.

Uzbek law provides many solutions to help employers of foreign nationals.  Requirements, processing times, employment eligibility, and benefits for accompanying family members vary by visa classification.

Nationals of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine can enter the country for business purposes without a visa. Foreign nationals from countries without Uzbek diplomatic representation can obtain business visas either upon arrival at the Tashkent international airport; or at a consulate assigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to serve the nationals of said countries (e.g. the Consulate of Uzbekistan in Belgium serves nationals of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg). Foreign nationals from countries where there is an Uzbek diplomatic representation must obtain their business visa at a consulate.

Work Permits are valid for up to one year, with the possibility of renewal, and require a local contract and local payroll. The Accreditation Card is granted for up to one year, with the possibility of renewal, to managerial-level staff of a Representative Office previously accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations Investments and Trade (MFERIT). No more than three foreign nationals may be employed by the Representative Office at any given time in a year. For this category, a local contract and payroll are not mandatory.

Note that documents require translation and legalization to be suitable for use in Uzbekistan.
