Gwen specializes in corporate immigration law, and is experienced in due diligence considerations related to mergers, acquisitions, takeovers and downsizings, corporate mobility concerns affecting the employment of a global, professional workforce and audit assessments of U.S. immigration programs. Gwen also handles Department of Labor regulations affecting the employment of foreign workers in the United States, U.S. and foreign consular affairs and complex matters for executives. She is admitted to practice in U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court, the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Gwen is a member of the firm's Executive Committee.
Representative Experience
In consultation with the Office of General Counsel of multinational organizations, designed and implemented visa strategies and immigration programs to decrease the burden on corporate human resources personnel while providing value-added services and streamlining case management.
Acted as lead counsel in validating the consolidation of a US Immigration Program following the merger of two international companies in the oil and gas industry. Developed a detailed implementation program for the merger, as well as counseling on the mobility of intracompany transferees and expatriates post-merger.
Designed an internal audit for a leading global pharmaceutical company with over 30,000 employees that encompassed a full scale audit of the company’s immigration program including internal approval processes, work flow, recordkeeping and I-9 employment verification program.
Developed a cost effective management strategy for globalizing the immigration work of a multinational corporation engaged in the chemical, aeronautic and electronic manufacturing industries, following an international corporate acquisition. Centralized the processing of all matters in a single office which produced dramatic cost savings for the client.
