Laura is an Associate in the firm’s Santa Clara office. She helps corporate clients strategize, coordinate and implement legal matters related to their business immigration needs. Laura focuses her practice on employment-based nonimmigrant visa petitions, immigrant petitions and adjustment of status.

Prior to joining Fragomen, Laura was an Assistant Chief Counsel with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In this role, she represented the U.S. government in federal immigration proceedings and advised clients on issues including legality of operations, initiation of removal proceedings and compliance with federal and state law. Laura applies this firsthand experience and knowledge to help clients maintain compliance with U.S. immigration laws and requirements.

Laura is also a former State Department appointee under the Obama Administration serving under former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. At Georgetown Law, she focused her studies on national security law and global migration while working full-time at the State Department on issues pertaining to refugees, human trafficking and civilian security.

Laura’s pro bono work includes representing asylum seekers in the United States.
