These concurrent workshops offer in-depth approaches to understanding immigration issues that can affect your business or organisation. The workshops will also help you understand the latest industry trends to help you implement effective immigration strategies and plan for the future.
- Africa trends & updates: Eastern Africa - Hear from our professionals on the comparative analysis of Sub-Saharan African trends around processing times, application fees, quota/localisation & application requirements and the compliance approach with a specific focus on Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya among others.
- Africa trends & updates: Western & Southern Africa - Hear from our speakers on the comparative analysis of Sub-Saharan African trends around processing times, application fees, quota/localisation & application requirements and the compliance approach with a specific focus on Nigeria, Ghana, Cote D'Ivoire, South Africa and Angola.
- Brexit - This session will discuss the impact of Brexit for EU and UK national employees and their family members. Our speakers will provide an overview of the UK government's proposed Settled Status scheme for EU nationals, including the application process and documentary requirements. Our experts will also discuss the situation of UK nationals residing in EU countries and the processes that may be put in place to protect their rights post-Brexit. Case studies will be used to explain how the schemes will operate in practice. Finally, the session will address how companies can best support employees through the process.
- EU strategies - Companies face a complex regulatory and geopolitical environment when assigning non-EU employees to Europe, especially when travel and work in multiple EU countries is required. Our experts will highlight current business immigration strategies in the European Union, as well as intra-EU mobility in light of recent changes in the immigration landscape. The session will address the impact of EU directives on immigration, as well as border security and upcoming changes impacting entry and stay in the Schengen zone.
- Immigration & social security: The increasing need for day one compliance - The changing legal environment, especially in Europe, offering greater opportunities to move personnel around Europe but at the same time imposing additional obligations and stricter control mechanisms, calls for a strategic approach of companies to all Day One compliance requirements. The session will address the ever growing connection between immigration and social security, and presents an overview on recent trends in Europe in respect of A1 certificates of coverage.
- Middle East: Present & future – Spotlight on Qatar, Oman, UAE - Hear from our professionals on the comparative changes reshaping the GCC region. Trends such as nationalisation, employment of women, sanctions, security screening challenges, redflags and the impact of immigration cost on business (applications fees, levy, vat, etc). The sessions will also address best practices and compliance approach with a specific focus on UAE, Oman & Qatar.
- Middle East: Present & future – Spotlight on Egypt, Morocco, Saudi Arabia - Hear from our speakers on the comparative changes reshaping the Middle East and North Africa region. Trends such as nationalisation, employment of women, security challenges, redflags and the impact of immigration cost on business (applications fees, levy, vat, etc). The sessions will also address best practices and compliance approach with a specific focus on Egypt, Morocco, Saudi Arabia.
- Posted workers - This workshop will discuss the rules for posted workers in the EU and the impact it may have on mobility programmes, employees and on the business traveller population. The session will address the obligations that are imposed on companies for posted workers and the risks, the penalties and sanctions of non-compliance. Practical examples will be used to explain the posted worker requirements, how they operate in practice and how other companies are dealing with the requirements.

The interactive roundtable discussions are designed to foster collaboration and enable you to hear and share ideas with your peers and industry professionals.
