Worldwide Immigration Trends Report Q1 2020 Supplement

Worldwide Immigration Trends Report Q1 2020 Supplement
Much has changed in the world since we released our annual Worldwide Immigration Trends Report in October 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally altered the way people in countries all over the world interact, travel and work.

It has had an impact on government thinking and policy—and the mobility of employees around the world.

Fragomen has examined the current environment by evaluating a number of evolving political, economic and cultural factors and scenarios to identify three key themes of recent immigration policy changes:

  • Protectionism breeds restrictive policies
  • Global competition for talent continues
  • Digital transformation is a work in progress

We have released our analysis in the first quarterly summary of the annual Worldwide Immigration Trends Report. The appendix includes a list of useful resources to support the theories and findings in the report, as well as a list of thought leadership pieces recently authored by Fragomen professionals.
