Product Owner

Fragomen is seeking Product Owners to join our talented Product, Design and Innovation team in our Technology & Innovation Lab in Pittsburgh. 

The Product Owner role at Fragomen represents internal and external customer and business needs through the creation, prioritization and realization of a product road map. The Product Owner engages with corporate and technology teams to define and create stories that support product features and solutions. 

What Product Owners do at Fragomen:

  • Elicit and craft product requirements using document analysis, user testing workshops, business process descriptions use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into user stories and evaluate user requests against impact and actual need
  • Partner with other Product Owners to determine impacts and interdependencies with other teams and applications
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and identify areas that need improvement or updating
  • Acts as customer advocate for team questions and seeks out opportunities to connect the team with end users, stakeholders and customers to develop and improve their understanding and empathy of end user needs
  • Act as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) on product solutions as needed
  • Works with the team to ensure features, stories, and tasks are entered, maintained, and tracked in required Agile tooling solutions
  • Collaborates with Product Management to provide input to the Product Roadmap and to plan for releases
  • Participates in the iteration demo and retrospective meetings to inspect and adapt the product or solution for the next iteration and the team’s process for improvements in how they work to build solution increments
  • Actively participate in the QA process as needed

Let’s talk if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Business or related discipline; in lieu of degree, relevant military or additional work experience considered
  • Minimum three to five years’ experience in product management, business/system analysis, or process advisory/consulting
  • Knowledge of Agile process, SDLC and iterative development
  • Proven experience in eliciting, analyzing and crafting requirements and writing user stories / documentation
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, application of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weakness of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Proven experience in handling multiple deliverables efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of IT functions, executives, lawyers, managers, staff and other subject matter experts
  • Business acumen and the ability to understand a larger product and company strategy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving deadlines
  • Legal or Immigration industry experience is a plus
  • Experience in cost/benefit and ROI analysis is a plus
  • Tech savvy skills using software products associated with product management
