We are the world's leading immigration law firm with 40 offices around the world on 6 continents. Our new Immigration Technology Innovation Lab in Pittsburgh is committed to solving pain points in the global immigration process with design thinking and technology innovations.

Job Description

What you will be doing?

  • As a designer in our innovation lab you will collaborate with other designers, engineers, and stakeholders to create digital products for fortune 100 companies all around the world.
  • You will have the unique opportunity to work on all phases of the design process:
    • User research
    • Iterative ideation/prototyping/testing
    • Detailed visual design

What are we looking for?

Systematic & Visual Thinking:

  • You love to understand all the details of complex systems
  • You know how to synthesize research and turn findings into coherent visual artifacts
  • Whiteboards and post-it notes are your friends

Experience & Portfolio:

  • You may have a formal degree in human-centered design (or a related field) or you may have the equivalent professional work experience
  • Either way you have a portfolio that demonstrates your design-process and your design-thinking

Empathy & Rationale:

  • You champion empathy with the end-user and can tell the difference between "good" design and "great" design.
  • You have a knack for finding elegant design solutions but you're also suspicious of your own cognitive bias and look to user testing to validate ideas.


  • You love getting your hands dirty in any aspect of the design process.
  • You are comfortable creating any kind of design artifact such as workflows/information architecture diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, etc.

Bonus points:

  • You have expert proficiency in Sketch, InVision, Flinto and have strong visual design chops.
  • You can articulate the value of design to others without the use of the following cliches: "intuitive", "simple", "easy to use", "user friendly", and "delight."
