About United Kingdom

Whether you’re looking to visit, live or work in United Kingdom—we can support your immigration needs at every stage of your journey.

If you're a foreign national looking to visit, live, and/or work in the United Kingdom, several options are available.

  • Business Visits: If you're looking to visit the United Kingdom on business and are not visa exempt, you'll need to secure a Business Visitor Visa before you travel. While business visits are legally possible for up to six cumulative months in a 12-month period, any trip over six consecutive weeks or with frequent visits per month will most likely be reviewed by an immigration professional. As a business visitor to the UK, you'll need to make sure you limit your activities to those permissible in business visitor status, and you may consider carrying a support letter confirming the nature and duration of your stay.
  • Work Authorization: The main work authorization categories are the Skilled Worker visa for skilled workers with a local job offer and the Intra-company Transfer visa for intracompany transfers.
  • Internships/Traineeships/Exchange Programs: If you're looking to work temporarily in the United Kingdom to gain work experience, training, learn a new language, or conduct research, several options are available.
  • Global Business Mobility: A Graduate Trainee visa is suitable if you're transferred to the UK as part of a graduate training program for a managerial or specialist role. To qualify, your employer must be approved as a sponsor, and your role must be on the list of eligible occupations. The Temporary Worker – Government Authorised Exchange (GAE) visa (previously Tier 5 GAE Sponsorship or T5 GAE) - is also available to EEA and non-EEA nationals for short-term work experience/internship programmes. To qualify, you must be sponsored by an approved government-authorised exchange scheme and meet other eligibility requirements. Fragomen is an authorised sponsor of the International Internship Scheme. For more information about Fragomen's International Internship Scheme, please email the team at [email protected].
  • Self-employment: If you're a start-up company owner, you may be eligible for the Innovator Founder visa, or the  Global Talent visa is available to leaders or potential leaders in academia/ research, arts and culture, or digital technology. Your dependents can accompany you to the UK under these work authorization options. If you're an EU national based in an EU country and meet the requirements, you may be eligible for a Tier 5 International Agreement visa for up to 12 months to provide services in the United Kingdom.

Fragomen can also consult on citizenship matters and, as permitted within the confines of local law, may be able to offer citizenship assistance.
