What is Fragomen Wallet? 

Fragomen Wallet is a new tool that allows you to easily store and manage your documents on your mobile device. Documents uploaded are not shared with Fragomen without your express permission.  

How do I access Fragomen Wallet? 

Fragomen Wallet is an application available on both the Apple App Store [link to be added], and the Google Play Store. To access it you’ll need the following: 

  • An Android (Android 14+) or Apple Device (IOS 16.8+) 
  • A valid form of ID (passport, driver’s license, or national ID) 
  • An onboarding email from Fragomen containing both your invite code, and a link to the application. 

To setup the application you will need to: 

  1. 1. Download the Fragomen Wallet app from the App Store or Google Play. 
  2. 2. Open the app and enter your invitation code, found in your onboarding email. 
  3. 3. Follow the in-app instructions to verify your identity using a valid form of ID.  
  4. 4. You will be asked to take a self-portrait as part of the verification process. 

After completing the above, you’ll have created your first digital credential! Digital credentials are a representation of the identity documents you scan. This and all other created credentials can be used at your discretion.  

 

How do I upload documents to Fragomen Wallet? 

To add a document, go to the Wallet tab and tap the Add Document icon () under the Documents page. Select a category to find a list of document types.  

  

 

 

 

Once the document type has been chosen: 

  1. Scan the document you wish to upload.  

 

  1. Consent to sharing the document for the purpose of credentialing*.  

Note: If you choose not to check this box, the document will be uploaded without credentialing. This can be done at a later date. 

  1. Consent to sharing the information in the document with Fragomen. You do not need to consent at this stage, but you may be asked to provide this document later. 

*Credentialing is the act of submitting a document for review and authentication. This document then becomes a shareable, authenticated, digital copy of your original document. 

If you choose to both credentialize and share your document(s) with Fragomen, you will be presented with a confirmation screen. 
 
Credentialing takes [estimated duration for verification]. Once the document has been reviewed, you will receive a Credential Offer, through the app. When received, review and confirm that all information is accurate.

By following these steps, you can convert any and all documents you wish into credentials. As mentioned above, these are saved within your Fragomen Wallet and managed by you exclusively. 

How do I add my family members? 

To add documents for family members: 

  1. Navigate to the Dependents tab.  
  1. Click Add New Dependent. 
  1. Enter the details of your family member(s). 
  1. Once created, click into the dependent record to add their documents.  

 

 

 

What is Backup and how do I enable it? 

After adding your first document, you will be asked if you want to enable Backup. Backup adds an extra layer of security and allows you to easily recover your information should you change or lose your device through a recovery key. Enabling Backup is as simple as clicking Enable Backup when first asked: 
 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note: Clicking Do it Later will trigger a reminder 24 hours later. 

You will be shown your Recovery Key once it is enabled. You must record and retain this key as you cannot recover documents you previously credentialized without it.
