Visa-on-Arrival Holders Must Submit Biometrics Upon Entry

The situation
Effective June 13, 2018, foreign nationals travelling to Nigeria under a visa-on-arrival must submit biometrics at the port of entry upon arrival in Nigeria.
Visa-on-arrival entrants must pay USD 90 using a credit or debit card for the biometrics process, which does not include the visa fee.
Impact
Employers and foreign nationals will incur an extra cost as a result of the biometric enrollment process and should accommodate for extra time spent at the port of entry.
Background
The biometric process has been implemented following a 2017 directive by the Federal Ministry of Interior which announced a phased introduction of the Nigerian Biometric Visa.
