Business Visitors Must Obtain Multiple Entry Business Visa Abroad
January 16, 2015
Business visitors are now required to obtain Multiple Entry Business Visas at Vietnamese embassies prior to arrival. Previously, business visitors could obtain multiple-entry business visas upon arrival in Vietnam.
In-country extensions of the Multiple Entry Business Visa are still available for work permit holders.
Business visa applications still require a Vietnamese sponsoring company. However, it is expected that sponsors will be required to provide additional information about the foreign employee, which may increase the application processing time.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Although at this time it is not certain whether this rule change is temporary or permanent, employers should confirm that their employees obtain the appropriate visa prior to travel.
Employers should also account for the expected increase in the volume of visa requests and potential processing delays in the planning of their employees’ business trips and work assignments.
