Canada: Increased Regularization and Inadmissibility Filing Fees

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is increasing fees for foreign nationals applying to regain their immigration status or enter Canada as a result of being deemed inadmissible, effective December 1, 2023. The changes are as follows: Authorization to return to Canada will increase to CAD 459.55, up from CAD 400; Rehabilitation (inadmissible on the grounds of criminality) will increase to CAD 229.77, up from CAD 200; Rehabilitation (inadmissible on the grounds of serious criminality) will increase to CAD 1,148.87, up from CAD 1,000; Restoring status as a visitor, worker or student will increase to CAD 229.77, up from CAD 200; Restoring status as a worker with new work permit will increase to CAD 384.77, up from CAD 355; Restoring student status with a new work permit will increase to CAD 379.77, up from CAD 350; and Temporary resident permit will increase to CAD 229.77, up from CAD 200. According to IRCC, fees will continue to be adjusted annually for inflation every December 1.
