Canada: Invitations to Apply Under the Category-Based Selection Process for Express Entry Under Way for Healthcare and STEM Workers

The government of Canada has announced that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is sending 500 healthcare workers invitations to apply under the newly created Express Entry category-based selection process. According to the Minister of IRCC, an additional 1,500 healthcare workers will receive invitations the week of July 3, 2023. Furthermore, IRCC has announced the first round of invitations to apply to candidates with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) expertise (including data scientists, software developers and programmers, mathematicians, statisticians and actuaries, and electrical and electronics engineers) will be sent the week of July 3. Those who are invited to apply will be able to submit permanent residence applications in Canada.
