Canada: Updated List of Occupations Eligible for Quebec’s Simplified Labour Market Impact Assessment Forthcoming

The Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration will update the list of occupations eligible for the simplified Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process on February 24, 2024. The list will be effective until February 23, 2025. Under the simplified LMIA process, employers in Quebec can apply for an LMIA to fill selected positions without having to include proof of recruitment efforts, as is normally required. The list of selected occupations is typically updated annually and includes professions in high demand in industry sectors experiencing labor shortages in Quebec. LMIA applications are submitted online and typically processed within one month under the simplified process.
