Lambdin will join Olivier Wagner from 1040Abroad to speak on the webinar, Clarifying Birthright Citizenship and the Child Tax Credit for American Families Abroad hosted by Democrats Abroad. This session will take place on Wednesday, 28 January at 1:00pm EST/ 6:00pm GMT.
This session is for American families living abroad who:
- Have a child or children (0-18 years old) living with you abroad
- Gave birth abroad but are unsure how to obtain U.S. citizenship for your child
- Aren't aware of the Child Tax Credit and want to know more
- Just moved abroad and don’t know how to start
- Just learned you qualify and want to file in order to take advantage of the Child Tax Credit
Topics discussed in the session will include the basics of filing a US return while living abroad and:
- How to claim the Child Tax Credit and how much your family is eligible to receive
- How to determine if your child born abroad is a U.S. citizen or can obtain U.S. citizenship
- How to register a birth from abroad
- How to obtain a Social Security Number in order to claim the Child Tax Credit
