Following the June 8, 2025, earthquake near Bogotá, Migración Colombia has temporarily closed its offices in the capital. The closure, which is presumed to be due to structural damage to the building, will remain in effect until further notice. As a result, all scheduled appointments at the Bogotá office, at least for the week of June 9-13, have been cancelled, and the authorities have not yet provided a timeline for rescheduling. This closure impacts a wide range of immigration processes typically handled at this location, including foreign national registrations, the issuance of local identity cards, status regularizations, and the processing of travel permits (salvoconductos), among others. Migración Colombia has stated that it intends to reschedule the affected appointments, but delays should be expected in the absence of a defined timeframe.
