Israel’s consulates resumed full operations today, as Ministry of Foreign Affairs workers ended a month-long labor dispute after reaching a salary agreement with the government. During the strike, consulates did not accept new visa applications or adjudicate pending cases; and a backlog of applications developed as a result.

Foreign nationals should expect application backlogs at Israeli consular posts, resulting in delays that will vary by consulate. To resolve the situation, the Ministry has directed consulates to prioritize clearing the backlogs that developed during the labor dispute.
