Czech Republic: EU Blue Card Amendments, Residence Restrictions in Force Earlier than Expected

The Czech Republic’s amendments to its EU Blue Card regime, and its restrictions on long-term visas and residence permits, along with other law changes, came into force on July 1, 2023, which was earlier than the expected September 2023 effective date. Czech authorities hastened the implementation process because many of these amendments were necessary for the country to align with the EU Blue Card Directive.
