Democratic Republic of Congo: New Documentary Requirement for Settlement Visa and Long-Term Work Permit Renewal and Departure

The Finance Ministry of the Democratic Republic of Congo issued a directive requiring all foreign nationals living and working in the country to submit their personal tax clearance certificate when renewing settlement visas or long-term work permits for work purposes. This requirement also applies to foreign nationals requesting authorization to depart the Democratic Republic of Congo at the end of their assignment. The tax clearance certificate is intended to promote tax compliance by those living and working in the country.
