Denmark: Certain Family Reunification Cases for Turkish Citizens Put on Hold
January 5, 2023
Following the European Court of Justice (CJEU) decision on December 22, 2022 regarding the legality of language requirements for spouses of Turkish nationals, the Danish government has decided to postpone processing and adjudication of cases where the ECJ’s decision would affect the outcome until further notice, which includes family reunification cases where the spouse of the Turkish citizen is in Denmark, economically active and has not passed the relevant Danish test requirements. Fragomen will publish further updates as they are released.
