Estonia: Applications Now Possible for 2024 Work Permit Quotas

Effective November 27, 2023, applicants can file work permit applications under the 2024 quotas regime. The quotas for next year are as follows: 1,014 permits for all work types other than those described below; 200 permits for transport and storage work; 35 permits for accredited journalists; 34 permits for professional sports-related activities; 15 permits for the performing arts sector; and 5 treaty-based permits. Japanese, UK, and U.S. nationals, as well as EU nationals and their dependents, are not subject to these quotas; nor are international protection applicants or recipients. Furthermore, the following roles are not subject to quotas: information and communication technology workers, start-up business workers, employees in growth companies, short-term workers, lecturers, highly-paid specialists or major investors, or family and student migrants. Interested applicants must schedule an appointment at an Estonian consular post. In-country applications are not available currently as they are fully booked.
