Fragomen LinkedIn Live: The EU Settled Status Scheme: Time to act before 30 June deadline

We would like you to join a LinkedIn Live session on the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) where the Fragomen team and Dan Petriello (Home Office Strategy, Engagement and Design Team) will answer policy, process and other questions. We will also help employers with the information they need to make a last push to help employees make an intime application.

Application deadline
With only a month until the 30 June 2021 deadline for EUSS applications, it is crucial that EU citizens living in the UK apply for settled status. Those who do not apply will not have a UK immigration status from 1 July 2021 and will not be able to start a new job, rent a new flat, access some healthcare or other fundamentals of day-to-day life.

What is the EUSS?
The EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) was created after the Brexit referendum, to confirm the status of Europeans living in the UK. Free movement no longer applies to EU citizens in the UK but the EUSS allows Europeans who lived in the UK before 11pm on 31 December 2021 to continue to live, work and access services in the UK.

It will be possible to submit an application after 30 June 2021, but the precise terms are not yet clear.

The application will be straightforward for most people and the technology is great but there are risks. Quite aside from this deadline, holders of Pre-Settled Status need to make sure that they track their expiry and apply for Settled Status in time. We have been surprised by how many people are accepting incorrect grants of Pre-Settled Status despite qualifying for settled status. We are also surprised by how many people do not realise that status granted under EU law is no longer valid.

Want to know more? How can companies support EU employees?
Please bring your questions to our LinkedIn Live session. We will deal with the technology, process and policy and and help employers know what they can do now and going forward to support their employees.

The event is open to anyone to attend. If you would like to attend, please click the register button.
