IHK Oldenburg Brexit Webinar: British in Germany - End of the Free Movement of Persons?

Please join Fragomen Senior Associate, Anna Fontaine, as she speaks at IHK Oldenburg Brexit webinar 'British in Germany - End of the Free Movement of Persons?' on Thursday, 25 February.

On December 31, 2020, the transition phase laid down in the Withdrawal Agreement between the United Kingdom and the EU ended. This means that the United Kingdom has been a third country since January 1, 2021. Until the end of the transition phase on December 31, 2020, the European Union and the United Kingdom had freedom to provide services and free movement of workers.

What should you watch out for after the end of the transition phase since January 1, 2021? What are the regulations for British citizens who already live in Germany or will move here? As an employer, what should you do if you have UK employees or are planning to hire UK nationals in the future? What are the effects of having British business partners coming to Germany for a business trip or work stay?

The IHKs Oldenburg, Ostfriesland and Papenburg, Lüneburg-Wolfsburg, Osnabrück-Emsland-Grafschaft Bentheim and Braunschweig are organizing a webinar on the legal framework for Brits in Germany after Brexit. Anna Fontaine will inform you about the legal aspects that also affect you as a company.

Topics of the webinar on the legal situation in Germany:

• British in Germany
• New entry from the British
• Business trips
• Work stays
• Posting
• Service delivery by UK companies
• Family members

You can also use the opportunity to ask your individual questions. You are welcome to send us your questions in advance.
