Finland: Unemployment Protection Period for Foreign Workers in Effect

As of June 11, 2025, foreign nationals who lose their job are granted a grace period of at least three months to find new employment without losing their residence permit; while specialist workers (including EU Blue Card holders), those who have been in Finland for more than two years, company executives, and intra-company transferees are now granted a six-month grace period. Previously, there was no formal grace period in the law.
