Foreign Scientists Now Permitted to Maintain Temporary Residence After Employment Termination
September 4, 2014
Foreign national scientists who are terminated by their employer can now maintain their temporary residence permit, the Ministry of the Interior has decreed. If the scientist is terminated, he or she will have one year to look for a new job. This is the current scheme for other foreign workers.
Previously, foreign nationals with scientist visa status were required to depart France or change their status if their employment was terminated.
