LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND – 8 July, 2026 – Fragomen, the world’s leading provider of immigration services, through its independent digital identity business and SICPA, the global leader in secure identification and authentication technologies through its sovereignty digital platform, today announced the formation of a global joint venture to implement the next-generation digital identity solutions for governments, enterprises and individuals.

The partnership combines Fragomen’s expertise in global workforce mobility with SICPA’s credentialing infrastructure and its suite of sovereign secure digital technologies to support a new generation of secure, scalable and interoperable digital identity ecosystems.

“The future of mobility, compliance and digital trust depends on making identity and document verification more secure, more portable and easier to use,” said Lance Kaplan, Co-Chair of Fragomen. “Fragomen has been investing in digital identity innovation and technology platforms designed to reduce friction across global mobility and compliance processes, and together with SICPA, we will bring trusted infrastructure and verifiable credentials into a unified platform, connecting government-issued credentials with enterprise and individual identity workflows.”

The joint venture will deliver an end-to-end, standards-based platform that connects identity verification, verifiable credentials, document authentication, digital wallets and credential lifecycle management within a single ecosystem. The platform will help governments, enterprises and individuals securely verify, manage and share trusted information across borders and digital environments.

Designed for use across the public and private sectors, the technology can support workforce mobility, travel and tourism, hospitality, education, corporate digital identity, document digitalization and humanitarian programs and systems. By enabling trusted credentials to be securely verified and shared among governments, organizations and individuals, the platform helps tackle fraud, streamline compliance processes and support trusted digital interactions at scale.

“Digital identity is becoming foundational to how people, organizations and governments interact,” said Philippe Amon, Chairman and CEO of SICPA. By combining SICPA’s trusted credentialing infrastructure and its suite of digital identity solutions with Fragomen’s global mobility expertise and enterprise workflows, we are enabling solutions that are secure, interoperable and practical at scale.”

The initiative reflects growing demand from governments and enterprises for interoperable, privacy-focused digital identity solutions that can operate across jurisdictions, regulatory frameworks and address global immigration. It also reflects the ever-increasing need for trusted connections between public and private sectors, enabling end-to-end digital identity ecosystems.

The new company will be headquartered at SICPA's unlimitrust campus in Switzerland and will operate globally, including through future subsidiaries and strategic partnerships.
