In September 2014, the Unaccompanied Humanitarian Minor (UHM) Consortium, of which Fragomen is a member, won the National Children's Law Award for Outstanding Legal Representation. This is a great achievement and formal recognition of the work undertaken by the Consortium and all involved for a number of years now in our Melbourne office to assist children from refugee backgrounds seeking to reunite with their families through split family applications.
The UHM Consortium is a group of social workers, legal referral services, pro bono organizations and law firms that look after refugees under 18 years old who are sponsoring their family to Australia under the split family provisions.
