Germany: Frankfurt Immigration Office Launches Online Portal to Resolve Backlog of Immigration Applications and Emails
June 30, 2023
The Frankfurt Immigration Office has launched an online application portal for the submission of 110 types of immigration applications forms in order to help resolve a backlog of immigration applications and emails. The forms – which include applications for work and residence permits, family reunion, and fast-track applications for skilled workers, among other types - will be available in ten different languages. The portal also notes the required information for each application and allows relevant documents to be uploaded directly. Previously, applicants had to submit such forms via email. Through the digitalization of such services, Frankfurt authorities seek to address a backlog of as-yet unresolved immigration applications, and otherwise streamline immigration processing.
