Ghana/South Africa: Reciprocal Tourism and Business Visa Waiver to be Implemented
October 17, 2023
Effective November 1, 2023, Ghana and South Africa will implement a reciprocal visa waiver agreement for nationals of both countries for business and tourism purposes. Ordinary passport holders will be able to travel between each other’s countries for stays up to a cumulative 90 days within a 12-month period. The reciprocal visa agreement does not grant individuals the authorization to work in either country. This reciprocal visa waiver aims to encourage tourism and trade between countries, similar to the recent visa waiver agreement between South Africa and Kenya.
