A new regulation now requires employers of foreign nationals in Indonesia to report a job vacancy to the Ministry of Manpower through an online Employment Information System. The information that must be reported includes, among other details, the open position and the number of workers needed to fill it, the education or skills level required, the offered wage or salary, and the location of the job. Jobseekers, employers and the government will be able to view this report to apply for the open position, fill the position with a candidate, or track the fulfilment of the position (respectively). The employer must also report on the online system when the position is filled. This new requirement is unlikely to delay processing times for work permits, however, employers who fail to complete this requirement may be issued administrative penalties.
