Israel: New Security Clearance Requirement for All Turkish Nationals Seeking a Visa to Israel
June 12, 2024
The Israeli Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) has announced that Turkish nationals travelling to Israel for any purpose must now undergo a security clearance process in order to obtain an Israeli visa. Previously, Turkish nationals were not subject to any security clearance requirements. This new requirement is in addition to existing challenges for Turkish nationals seeking to enter Israel, including the current closure of Israeli consular posts in Türkiye and temporary additional requirements for work permit applicants who lack an academic degree. The new security clearance requirement is expected to increase the processing times for all Turkish national visa applicants, and businesses may need to revise their talent onboarding timeframes accordingly.
