Japan: Digital Nomad Visa Under Consideration

As expected, the Japanese Minister of Justice has announced that the country is considering implementing a Digital Nomad Visa that would offer a six-month residence status for qualifying foreign nationals of a visa-exempt country working remotely in Japan and earning at least an annual income of JPY 10 million (USD 68,300), who are enrolled in an eligible health insurance plan.
