Kazakhstan: Online Identification Number Service Temporarily Suspended

Online issuance of Individual Identification Numbers (IIN) for foreign nationals staying in Kazakhstan has been suspended. It is not yet clear why the service was suspended or how long the suspension will last. Affected applicants can apply for an IIN in hardcopy or via a legal representative holding a notarized power of attorney. Powers of attorney issued in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine need not be apostilled or legalized. The planned date for the end of the suspension is October 1, 2022.
