Kenya: Government eCitizen Portal Outage Affects eVisa Applications

Update September 6, 2023: The platform is now operational.

The Kenya government e-citizen platform, which is used to process eVisa applications, has not been operational since July 24, 2023, and is down until further notice due to technical issues. During this period, applicants from visa required countries will not be able to submit or track new eVisa applications but can use any airline to enter Kenya under a visa-on-arrival, endorsed as a stamp in the entrant’s passport. They will be subject to the normal eVisa fee upon entry. We will monitor the situation and provide updates to this news brief when the site is operational.
