Latvia: Live Queue for Residence Permit Issuance Forthcoming

Effective February 1, 2023, the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (OCMA) regional divisions in Riga will accept residence permit (e-ID card) applicants contingent on a “live” queue (i.e. first-come, first-serve basis), whereas previously applicants were required to schedule appointments online, in-person, by phone, or e-mail. This service will only be available for foreign nationals who have already received residence permit approval from the immigration authorities. Applicants are advised to bring their residence permit approval document to the OCMA office. The purpose of these changes is to make the service more accessible due to overbooking.
