Latvia: New Digital Services Launched

The Latvian Immigration Office has launched two new digital services: the Migration Phone, an information service available to individuals seeking current information on Latvian migration policies; and an online platform which will allow foreign nationals to file initial and renewal residence permit applications once COVID-19 regulations are lifted, as manual or e-mail application submission is still required. The Qticket mobile app has also been updated, offering Latvian nationals an option to join a live queue for biometric appointments, passport issuance and electronic identification cards, where previously prior appointments were required. However, foreign nationals must continue to book appointments ahead of time pending the suspension of COVID-19 regulations.
