Mainland China: Documentary Requirement Relaxed for Category A Work Permit Applicants in Beijing

Foreign nationals in Beijing who are eligible for Category A classification who earned at least six times the average annual salary of local Beijing employees in the previous year are no longer required to submit tax documents when applying to extend or cancel their work permits. Instead, authorities will conduct random inspections to check the tax documents. This policy aims to ease work permit extension and cancellation rules for foreign workers in Beijing. We will monitor whether this policy will be expanded to other cities.
