Mainland China: Joint Application of Work Permits and Residence Permits Available in Beijing
March 27, 2023
Work Permit applicants in Beijing can now file joint applications for work permits and residence permits. Previously, applicants had to wait for the approval of the Work Permit, which generally takes around seven to 14 days, before submitting the application for the Residence Permit which is required before foreign nationals begin legally working in Mainland China. The new rule is in line with the government’s aim of supporting the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center by optimizing the international business environment in Beijing.
