The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of China has introduced optimized visa application forms for foreign nationals traveling to the country. The streamlined forms focus on simplifying seven major items and 15 sub-items, primarily related to the applicant's educational background, family information, and past travel experience. For example, the section on "past travel experience" now covers only the last year, as opposed to the previous five years, and the "educational background" section requires only the applicant's highest degree. These changes aim to reduce the time and complexity involved in the application process. The MFA states that the new, user-friendly forms will facilitate people-to-people exchanges between China and other nations, aligning with China's broader goals of opening-up globally, among other things.
