Medical Exam Requirement Eliminated for Skilled Foreign Nationals and Others

The Ministry of the Interior has eliminated a medical exam requirement for foreign scientists, intracompany transferees, skilled and talented workers, artistic/cultural workers, and their dependents. 

The new policy took effect on August 22, 2014 and is gradually being implemented across France. Foreign nationals with residence permit applications pending as of August 22, 2014 will still need to complete the medical exam before applying for a residence permit. 

What This Means for Employers 

Elimination of the medical examination requirement means fewer administrative burdens for affected foreign nationals and more efficient onboarding for their employers.
