New multiple-entry visas for business and visit purposes will be introduced for both short-term stays, for an expected maximum stay of 30 days, and long-term stays, for an expected maximum stay of 90 days. There will be a new special entry permit for residents of neighboring countries that is expected to facilitate cross-border business by catering to foreign nationals who frequently travel between the countries.
Nearly all government processing fees for residence permits and visas have been increased, except typing fees and other service charges. The fee increases apply in Mainland UAE only. Processing fees vary across the UAE’s free trade zones, but it is anticipated that many will amend their fee schedules in accordance with the Mainland fee increases.
