The Netherlands: Significant Government Processing Delays for Short-Term Work Permits
November 1, 2024
Immigration practitioners have observed that standard government processing times for short-term work permits have increased to approximately nine weeks (up from five weeks). This is due to a significant increase in the number of applications for this permit type, which are often particularly valuable for assignments on short notice. Employers will need to account for the increased processing times as they plan project timeframes and talent management schedules. It is not clear how long these delays will last.
