New Document Requirement at Mumbai FRRO for Foreign Nationals Residing in Hotels
January 14, 2014
The Mumbai Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) now requires foreign nationals residing in hotels or service apartments to submit Form C (Arrival Report of Foreigner in Hotel) at their registration and visa extension appointments.
Form C can be obtained from hotels and service apartments. Foreign nationals should request a Form C immediately upon arrival in India so that a timely registration appointment can be secured on their behalf.
Similar requirements are already in effect in several other Indian cities, including Chennai, Navi Mumbai and Pune, and to a limited extent in Hyderabad. There are no changes to documentation requirements in Mumbai for foreign nationals residing in leased or rented apartments.
What This Means for Employers
Employers should ensure that their sponsored employees in Mumbai and their families request a Form C (Arrival Report of Foreigner in Hotel) immediately upon arrival in India to avoid delays in the registration process.
