New Zealand
Foreign nationals who require medical examinations to enter New Zealand will be able to use a new online health processing system called eMedical, which will replace the paper-based medical examination process. The online system will be implemented January 31. Due to the limited number of INZ-panel doctors with approved eMedical facilities, delays in obtaining medical appointments can be excepted.
The eMedical system, developed by Australia’s Department of Immigration and Border Protection, will be mandatory for nationals of countries where the medical examinations for immigration purposes must be undertaken by an INZ-panel doctor.
What This Means for Foreign Nationals
Foreign nationals who have not already completed a medical examination by January 31 should confirm that the examination will be undertaken by an INZ-approved panel doctor with eMedical facilities, and should account for the possibility of lengthy delays in obtaining medical appointments.
