New Online Permit Application System Launched
February 19, 2016
Due to the introduction of a new Limited Stay Permit (KITAS) online application portal, Limited Stay Permit applicants should expect processing delays during the next few weeks. Eventually, the online system is expected to streamline the KITAS application process.
New Application Process
KITAS applicants must register on the online system, file an online application and once they receive a confirmation email, must submit their applications to the local Immigration Office. Fragomen will continue to assist with this process.
The new process only applies to KITAS applications filed at the following Immigration Offices:
- West Jakarta;
- South Jakarta;
- Central Jakarta;
- East Jakarta;
- North Jakarta;
- Soekarno Hatta;
- Tangerang;
- Bogor;
- Depok;
- Karawang; and
- Bekasi.
Applicants to other offices should continue to manually submit applications to their local Immigration office, as was required for all applicants in the past.
What This Means for Foreign Nationals
Employees should work with their immigration professionals to register on the online system and file Limited Stay Permit applications as soon as possible following their arrival in Indonesia to account for potential delays associated with the new online portal.
