The situation
The Brazilian Ministry of Labor’s online system, Migranteweb, is temporarily inoperable.
Background
The Migranteweb is the online system used to submit all visa and residence applications, as well as any additional information or documents requested by the Ministry of Labor upon review of an immigration application.
Impact
- As there are no workarounds for the submission of these applications, affected foreign nationals will see longer processing times until the system is resolved and following the resolution while the government works on the inevitable backlog.
- Applications submitted at Brazilian consular posts abroad are unaffected by the outage.
- Foreign nationals who have been asked by the Ministry of Labor to provide additional information or documents within 30 days of the request may not be able to meet the deadline. The Ministry will extend this deadline until the system is operable.
