The quota for the regular stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) (which includes applicants with Master’s degrees and PhDs) has been exhausted for 2015, after Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) received 2,500 nominations. New applications and employer pre-screen applications under this stream will not be accepted until January 1, 2016.
What This Means for Foreign Nationals
Due to the exhaustion of the OINP’s regular stream quota for 2015, applicants should note the following:
• New applications under this stream received between November 16, 2015 and December 31, 2015 will be returned to the applicant;
• Applicants with pending OINP applications under this stream will receive an answer after December 31, 2015; and
• The OINP office will continue to accept nominee applications for those with approved employer pre-screen applications under the Foreign Worker and International Student with a Job Offer streams.
