Panama: Visa Renewal Deadlines Extended to Incentivize Regularization

UPDATE November 20, 2024: The regularization process for eligible foreign nationals is now available until December 31, 2024.

UPDATE March 14, 2024: The availability of this regularization process for eligible foreign nationals has been further extended until June 30, 2024.

UPDATE January 16, 2024: The availability of this regularization process for eligible foreign nationals has been extended until February 29, 2024. 

Foreign nationals in Panama whose visas expired on or after March 13, 2020, can regularize their status until December 31, 2023. However, they will still be subject to applicable fines for each month they remained in Panama beyond the authorized period of stay of their visa and government fees. Foreign nationals in Panama generally are granted a six-month grace period beyond their visa expiry date to apply for a renewal of their visa.
